Back in June we received an email from a student studying Interior Design in Melbourne, Australia, telling us that we were her chosen brand for a project she was embarking on to design a commercial office space. After giving Nat an insight into the inspiration behind the brand, she went away and designed the most epic office space – one that totally embodies what Narlaka is as a brand. And we just had to share it.
Narlaka aims to create fashion for women who are fearless in their pursuit of life. Being different can be a scary thing, and some find it easier to follow the crowd. Narlaka is all about embracing being different. We embody a lifestyle that celebrates being unique – throw out that rule book and do/say/wear what it is that makes you feel empowered! We want you to feel unique and gorgeous in our clothes – so whether that is from incredibly soft fabrics, sparkly sequins, or 90s bold prints to make you stand out from the crowd, we’ve got something for everyone. Even the boys! Nat’s designs have manifested everything that we stand for, from the sparkly mantras on the walls, to the exposed urban brick, and the pastel colour palette. A huge thank you to Nat – we’ll be calling her when we expand our offices!
Here’s a little interview with Nat herself:
- Tell us a little bit about yourself: My name is Nat....all my friends know me as the outgoing girl who talks a lot, laughs a lot, smiles a lot, likes to have fun and may turn into Beyonce on the dance floor. I have always had a passion for aesthetically beautiful things....including fashion, food and beautifully designed interiors. At the age of 32 I finally decided to follow my passion and pursue my studies in Interior Design so I could start a career in what I loved!
- Why did you choose Narlaka? I found Narlaka on Instagram and instantly loved what they were all about.....fashion for the fearless women....who is me! It was all about pushing the boundaries and not following the rules. Beautifully designed clothing to make a statement in life and unique pieces that stood out.
- What was the inspiration behind the design? The inspiration behind the design was to create a space that pushed the boundaries. Not your every-day office or retail space...it really had to represent the brand and the culture the brand has created. My Design statement is as follows: Immerse yourself into the soft organic beauty of pastel pink, aqua and green that are repeated throughout the space. Bold geometric lighting is used to add contrast to the space and will be repeated throughout to create movement. The use of gold glitter and brick add an element of texture and adventure. Life at narlaka is for the festival seekers, sun gazers and the glitter junkies.
